Job Summary

Instruct participants at the Crafton Sportsman Complex on range and target activities, firearm safety, wildlife management, conservation, and hunter education. Operate indoor simulation ranges to coach firearm techniques while presenting to groups of 20-40 people. Assist with setting up and takedown of Skills Center facilities, ensuring a safe environment and maintaining clean, organized work areas. Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions. Work 45-55 hours daily, standing and hiking up to 8 hours with a 50-pound lift limit. Complete annual health records and maintain a registered Scouting America membership status.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum age: 18+
  • Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
  • Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge in the use of firearms and experience in archery (training provided)
  • Knowledge and/or experience in hunting, hunting laws, conservation, wildlife agencies (training provided)
  • Computer literacy and ability to use MS Office presentation software
  • High emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)
  • Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focus
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills
  • Ability to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
