Job Summary

The Sports Team Athletic Trainer provides daily autonomous medical coverage for athletic practices and events at schools and community teams, performing injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation; handles emergency medical services for acute injuries; administers medications safely; develops injury prevention programs; coordinates referrals for continuity of care; communicates injury status to coaches, parents, and team physicians; maintains clinical documentation; and participates in ongoing education. Travel may be required for patient care across US and internationally. Licensing/Certification requirements include NATA BOC certification and current state licensure; a bachelor’s degree in athletic training is required, with a master’s degree preferred. The role also values experience with EPIC EMR and preferences for Spanish language skills and additional certifications (e.g., BLS/CPR). Required Qualifications

  • NATA BOC Certified – National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (required)
  • Current Athletic Trainer license in the state in which they are practicing (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training (required)

  • Master’s degree in Athletic Training
  • NATA BOC Certification – National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (required)
  • Current Athletic Trainer license in the state in which they are practicing (required)
  • BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, required at hire for RSFH)
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record or equivalent EMR (preferred)
  • Spanish (preferred)
  • 2 years of experience in equivalent setting (preferred)
  • Master’s degree in Athletic Training (preferred)
  • CPR certification (required for some sites)
  • CPR/AED training (preferred)
  • Licensure in multiple states (preferred)
  • Emergency medical services training (preferred)
  • Injury prevention programming experience (preferred)
  • Communication with coaches/athletes/parents (preferred)
  • Documentation and record-keeping proficiency (preferred)
  • Rehabilitation program design experience (preferred)
  • Wound care experience (preferred)
  • Taping and bracing proficiency (preferred)
  • Knowledge of EPIC/EMR systems (preferred)
  • Ability to travel for patient care (preferred)
