Job Summary
Write, produce, and edit stories for digital and print publications, covering live events like MLB games and NBA practices while pitching fresh stories for publication. Work under tight deadlines to produce timely, accurate breaking news and collaborate with the sports video department to create daily content that complements written articles. Assist in executing and optimizing the New York Post's social media strategy for sports coverage to keep fans engaged. This part-time role runs September 14 through November 20, 2026, with in-office attendance at the Midtown Manhattan office.
Required Qualifications
- Experience at a college newspaper or website
- A passion for sports writing
- Deep knowledge of all sports, especially New York teams
- A strong interest in the city's sports culture
- A proven track record of strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with the New York Post's writing style
- A willingness to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic newsroom
- A desire to work hard, learn quickly, and gain hands-on experience in one of the most high-energy environments in sports journalism
- Open to current juniors and seniors pursuing a BA, MA students, and recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year
- Note: This position requires in-office attendance at our Midtown Manhattan office
