Job Summary
Sports Reporter on Hearst Television's news team responsible for generating story ideas, conducting interviews, developing sources, and creating enterprise-focused content for newscasts. Collaborates with managers, producers, and photographers (or works independently) to gather and edit video and audio, develop sources, and provide multimedia updates to mobile platforms. Manages multiple stories with tight deadlines, maintains journalistic integrity, works varied shifts including overnights and weekends, engages with the community, stays current on industry trends and technologies, and holds a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Required Qualifications
- Professional or college reporting experience with a proven track record
- Experience in enterprise reporting and uncovering exclusive details
- A demo reel showcasing your ability to create compelling content
- Excellent writing skills to craft clear and engaging copy
- Proficiency in operating mobile transmission devices and adapting to new technologies
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and manage time-sensitive tasks
