Job Summary
Report daily on WVU Athletics and related sports news, producing compelling television reports, live shots, and feature stories. Co-host specialty programming including coaches shows, digital streams, and podcasts while appearing live from sporting events, practices, and press conferences. Write, shoot, and edit stories for television, digital, and social platforms; publish articles and website content regularly. Generate ideas that drive audience growth and maintain an active social media presence. Build relationships with coaches, athletes, and university officials to create original content that stands out from competitors. Capture photos and video for broadcast use and edit content using Adobe Creative Cloud software. This role requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with travel as needed to cover games and special events.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Sports Media or related field
- Valid driver's license
- Good driving record
- Ability to work under deadline pressure
- Ability to react quickly to breaking news
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Schedule flexibility, including nights, weekends and holidays
