Job Summary
Enforce softball rules and regulations firmly, tactfully, and impartially while analyzing situations objectively to determine proper course of action. Monitor participants, verify attire and equipment compliance, and ensure a safe environment by addressing facility, equipment, and weather hazards. Prepare program activities, organize and manage related equipment, and set up or break down instructional materials as needed. Complete necessary reports and forms, including accident/incident records and attendance logs, while adhering to emergency procedures. Provide excellent customer service by answering participant questions and resolving problems. Maintain current CPR/AED certification and work with little to no supervision. Submit a complete application by September 9, 2026, for an hourly rate between $20.81 and $29.12.
Required Qualifications
- Expertise in the specific sports program rules and interpretations
- Thorough knowledge of city and department policies
- Demonstrated skill in the operation of equipment necessary to perform the functions of the job
- Ability to enforce rules and regulations firmly, tactfully and impartially
- Ability to control large groups of people
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to remain current rules of specific sports
- Ability to communicate effectively to the participants
- Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively and to determine proper course of action to be taken
- Ability to work with little or no supervision, as necessary
- Ability to analyze and assess facility, equipment and weather safety hazards
- Ability to write incident and accident reports, as necessary
- Ability to learn and adhere to the facility emergency procedures
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public
- 2 years' experience working within the sport in an increased level of competitiveness
- Current CPR/AED certification
