Job Summary
Sports Nutrition Buyer responsible for purchasing products for the company through evaluating vendors, negotiating deals, and maintaining efficient inventory levels. Maintains vendor relationships in the sports nutrition space and manages all inventory-related data in an ERP system. Performs routine analysis of fill rates, product innovation, POS, and pricing in relation to brands. Collaborates with the sales team on forecasting to ensure adequate buys and works with VP’s, Buying Team, Account Executives, and Facility Managers to align sales and customer objectives with business activities. Key duties include analyzing sales trends and customer needs for optimal inventory, evaluating vendors on price/quality/speed of delivery, purchase order management, identifying trends via weekly sales reviews, maintaining vendor and customer reports, and participating in meetings and trade shows to build vendor contacts. Travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, Allocations or Supply Chain Management
- 5+ Years’ Experience required, preferably in like industry or consumer packaged goods
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
