Job Summary

Plan recreational sports leagues, social events, and Bible studies to build authentic community for 18-39 year olds. Submit annual event plans including 5-6 leagues and major socials every other month. Lead regional Bible study efforts, recruit and manage volunteer teams, and coordinate discipleship. Dedicate time to fundraising support team building during the initial nine weeks. Work remotely for prayer and financial backing while maintaining flexible scheduling. Report to a Regional Director and live with another missionary of the same gender if possible.

Required Qualifications

Orthodox Roman Catholic formation (Byzantine, Lithuanian, or other rites in union with Roman Catholicism)
Affinity towards sports or enough familiarity to be confident in planning and leading leagues
Good conversational skills
Willingness to step out of their comfort zone frequently
Willingness to meet people where they are at and patiently love them
Ability to embody Catholic Sports' values: Hospitable Outreach, Catholic Orthodoxy, and Vulnerable Intimacy
Ability to lead a community of peers to knowing and loving Jesus Christ
Ability to effectively lead and coach others
Ability to manage and form a volunteer team
Ability to recruit volunteers study leaders and grow league outreach
Ability to plan and lead recreational sports leagues (e.g. basketball, ultimate, volleyball, wiffleball, soccer)
Ability to plan fun social events (e.g. brewery tours, hikes, dances, parties)
Ability to lead Bible studies and conduct one-on-one outreach/discipleship
Ability to network for recruitment and growing participation in all areas
Ability to fundraise to build a support team for prayer and financial support
Ability to submit an annual event plan for review with their supervisor
Ability to coordinate regional Bible study volunteers and cast vision for Bible studies
Ability to assist in the planning of an annual appreciation event
Ability to manage league contractors and visit their leagues
Ability to run leagues in the absence of volunteers
Ability to lead the Bible study regional effort
Ability to manage and form volunteers
Ability to plan events that build the community
Ability to engage in networking (e.g. Theo. On Tap, YCP, parish/diocese events)
Ability to perform fundraising maintenance or growth
Ability to live with another missionary of the same gender, if possible, with intentional prayer and community among them
Ability to work diligently at recruiting volunteers study leaders
