Job Summary
Plan recreational sports leagues and social events, including brewery tours, hikes, and dances, while managing volunteer teams for recruitment, training, and annual appreciation events. Lead regional Bible study efforts, coordinate volunteer leaders, and conduct one-on-one discipleship to foster authentic community. Submit annual event plans for review and maintain fundraising support teams during the initial nine-week onboarding period. This role focuses on Year 1 program coordination and Year 2 leadership development within a Denver-based ministry serving 18-39 year olds.
Required Qualifications
- Orthodox Roman Catholic formation (Byzantine, Lithuanian, or other rites in union with Roman Catholicism)
- Affinity towards sports
- Familiarity with planning and leading leagues
- Good conversational skills
- Willingness to step out of their comfort zone frequently
- Ability to meet people where they are at and patiently love them
- Embodiment of Catholic Sports' values: Hospitable Outreach, Catholic Orthodoxy, and Vulnerable Intimacy
- Ability to lead a community of peers to knowing and loving Jesus Christ
- Ability to recruit and manage a volunteer team
- Ability to disciple/form volunteers in the Catholic sports mission, vision and core values
- Ability to lead at least one Bible study
- Ability to coordinate regional Bible study volunteers
- Ability to cast vision for Bible studies to those leaders
- Ability to work diligently at recruiting volunteers study leaders
- Ability to grow league outreach
- Ability to assist in the planning of an annual appreciation event
- Ability to submit an annual event plan for review with their supervisor
- Ability to plan 5-6 leagues a year in a new location
- Ability to plan a major social event every other month (6/year)
- Ability to plan smaller socials such as movies, pickup sports, etc.
- Ability to manage league contractors and visit their leagues
- Ability to run leagues in the absence of volunteers
- Ability to lead the Bible study regional effort
- Ability to lead their own Bible studies
- Ability to conduct one-on-one outreach/discipleship
- Ability to manage volunteers
- Ability to plan events that build the community
- Ability to network for recruitment and growing participation in all areas
- Ability to maintain or grow fundraising
- Ability to build an income producing support team from friends, family and referrals
- Ability to build this support team for prayer and financial support
- Ability to have prayer backing needed for ministry
