Job Summary
Oversee daily department activities, serve as the point person for the department in the Supervisor's absence, and train new employees. Schedule appointments for diagnostic examinations and physical therapy based on physician's orders while performing therapeutic procedures such as wound care, crutch and gait training, and instructing patients on exercise. Assist the physician in the clinic and operative setting, allocate resources daily among clinics, and lead special projects and audits to ensure internal control environments remain compliant. Resolve customer concerns, interact with vendors and partners for new initiatives, and adapt communication styles to specific patient populations while maintaining strict adherence to federal, state, and local laws.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Allied Health or Education
- 3 years related experience in healthcare office in clinical or other related medical areas
- Certified Orthopedic Technologist (OTC)
- BLS Certification
- Board of Certified Athletic Trainers Certification (BOCATC)
- License in the state of practice
- Successful completion of a SMA residency or equivalent program
- Excellent written, verbal and follow up skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work well with a team
- Ability to interact with potential patients, clinic staff, physicians, and departments in a professional manner
- Collaborative working and team building skills
- Ability to multi-task with high degree of attention to detail and bring tasks to completion
- Must be able to comfortably communicate with patients
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Very Heavy Work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- The incumbent works in a patient care area; works in an area where patients enter; works directly with patients; and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases
- The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases
- Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards
- Individuals who reside in and will work from the following areas are not eligible for remote work position: Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington D.C.
