Job Summary
Instruct sports classes for children and adults in pickleball and basketball while maintaining a safe learning environment and enforcing gym and field rules. Prepare lesson plans, build relationships with students and parents, and encourage parent involvement. Convey program information, maintain attendance and progress records, and organize class equipment. Train and supervise class aides as assigned. Follow YMCA policies, complete incident reports, and attend scheduled staff meetings and trainings. Work part-time up to 12 hours weekly, typically during weekday and weekend mornings and afternoons. Requires CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18
- CPR certification
- AED certification
- Basic First Aid certification
- Experience playing and teaching multiple sports to children
- Flexible schedule in the afternoons and possibly weekends
- Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations
