Job Summary
Sports Instructor at the YMCA of South Florida in Pembroke Pines, FL plans and teaches youth sports for participants aged 3-17 under the direction of the Sports Director or Coordinator, acts as liaison between the director and staff, and disseminates group communications. Responsibilities include developing age-appropriate youth sports programs, coordinating with the Program Director to promote YMCA youth sports in the community, ensuring programs comply with risk management and safety procedures, tailoring activities to individual children's needs, maintaining a safe learning environment, communicating progress with parents, attending staff meetings and events, training volunteers, and following incident reporting procedures. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, two or more years of relevant experience, First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire, with bilingual English/Spanish as a plus; skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel; strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; and willingness to work in an outdoor pool environment as a part-time role.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Two or more years of experience participating in or teaching various Youth Sports to children or comparable experience
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Bilingual, English and Spanish, a plus
