Sports Director

Job Summary
Directs, supervises, expands, and maintains youth and adult sports programming and related activities; recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and evaluates sports staff and volunteers; coordinates with facilities, equipment, and scheduling; collaborates with Marketing/Communications to promote YMCA programs; ensures adherence to YMCA rules, policies, and emergency procedures; coordinates field and facility use, organizes teams and events, and oversees program quality, safety, and participant satisfaction. Requires Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent experience, CPR/AED and First Aid within 30 days, and the ability to work weeknights/weekends. Strong interpersonal, coaching, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software
- Ability to be available weeknights and weekends to accommodate programming
- Must become familiar with YMCA rules and policies within 30 days of employment
- Strong verbal communication skills for interaction with members, participants, volunteers, and staff
