Job Summary
The Sports Aide will assist with the preparation, implementation and event management of youth and adult sports programming at the Downriver Family YMCA. Responsibilities include planning and implementing sports activities, coaching and refereeing when needed, running the score clock, sampling classes, maintaining equipment and supplies, and performing related duties as assigned. Prior experience with children in supervised settings and basic sports knowledge are preferred but not required; ability to lift and move equipment is required. Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a supervised setting is preferred, not required
- Basic sports knowledge is preferred, not required
- Assists in the planning and implementing of sports activities
- Ensures all sport programs run smoothly by assisting where needed (coaching, refereeing, running the score clock, running sport samplings or other classes)
- Maintain the quality and inventory of the supplies, equipment and materials
- Assists in proper storage of program equipment
- Performs other assigned duties as directed by Supervisor
- Ability to move equipment; must have the strength to lift, carry, push or pull
