Job Summary
Conduct direct customer service and support by selling firearms, fishing, archery, camping, and related items. Demonstrate product features, advise customers on merchandise benefits, and verify firearm sales background checks using ATF, FBI, and State systems. Perform general floor maintenance, stock shelves, price merchandise, and manage department inventory. Handle routine telephone inquiries and move material using appropriate equipment. Must be 18+ years old due to ATF and FFL laws, work any retail shift, and pass a thorough background check.
Required Qualifications
- 18+ years of age
- Experience and knowledge of firearms, shooting, scopes, ammo, reloading, and accessories
- Knowledge of 4473 forms
- Rigorous attention to detail
- Computer skills
- Must be able to pass a thorough background check
- Must be willing to work any retail shift
- Must be able to complete training courses and pass certification tests provided by D&B Supply
- Must be able to work majority of shift standing
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to climb, reach, bend, stoop and crawl
- Must be able to physically participate in resets, remodels and reconstruction projects
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
- Ability to resolve difficult or stressful customer service issues
- Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers
- Ability to work as a team
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of 4473 forms
- Hunting, fishing, camping, shooting, and general outdoors experience
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- College degree
- Previous merchandising experience
- Good communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with customers and staff on a regular basis
