Job Summary
Temporary, part-time instructors will teach and develop courses in the MSM graduate core and elective curriculum, contributing to teaching and service for the program. Responsibilities include preparing lectures, creating assignments, holding office hours, grading course materials, and potentially teaching during summer terms. Appointments are 4.5- or 9-month academic terms with salary dependent on degree type, teaching load, and service expectations. Requires a masters or terminal degree in a related field, and demonstrates strong communication and evidence of successful teaching at undergraduate/graduate levels. Reports to the Director of Sports Management; supervision and background checks per CSU policy. This pool expires June 30, 2026; applications reviewed as needs arise.
Required Qualifications
- A masters or terminal Degree in Sport Management, Sport Science, Sport Administration, or related field (such as business, economics, political science, media and communications, sociology, law, education, environmental science)
- Excellent communication skills (both written/verbal)
- Evidence of successful teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level
Desired Qualifications
- Evidence of successful teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level
- Evidence of 2 or more years of successful teaching in sport management or a related field at the undergraduate or graduate level
- Professional creative or scholarly accomplishments in the candidate’s area of expertise
- Successful teaching in sport management or related field at the undergraduate or graduate level
