Job Summary
The Sports Coordinator enhances the i9 Sports experience by building relationships with players, parents, and coaches, ensuring instructional delivery of practices and games across age groups, and supporting coaches through observation and guidance. Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down field equipment, empowering volunteer coaches to lead practice sessions focused on fundamentals and fun, teaching core concepts like sportsmanship, officiating designated games, and maintaining a consistently positive attitude with strong customer service. The role requires excellent communication, the ability to work a varied schedule including weekends and some evenings over the season, and a proactive approach to safety and relationship-building.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work a varied work schedule including weekends and some evenings (for the full duration of the season, ~7 weeks)
- Empower volunteer coaches to lead practice sessions focusing on fundamentals, skill development, and fun
- Ability to observe, assess, and assist coaches to improve instructional delivery
- Observing, assessing, and assisting coaches is paramount for athlete development
- Positive attitude and ability to build professional relationships
- Safety awareness and ability to take charge of any situation to ensure player safety
- Sports-coaching knowledge is a plus, but not required
