Job Summary

Review funding announcements and collaborate with Principal Investigators to interpret requirements for pre-proposal decision-making. Oversee preparation of sponsored project proposals, ensuring budget integration with technical documents and compliance with sponsor guidelines. Manage proposal timelines and coordinate award set-ups with administration and the PI. Facilitate post-award administration by processing requests across Finance, Accounting, and Human Resources, while tracking annual renewals, progress reports, and milestone submissions. Streamline research activities by developing procedures, managing subcontractor communications, and ensuring timely grant close-outs and database updates. Enhance professional knowledge through seminars and literature reviews to support the university's research enterprise.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization
  • 3 years of direct experience working on Pre-Award or Post-Award services in a higher education institution

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization
  • Certified Research Administrator (CRA), Certified Pre-Award Research Administrator (CPRA), or Certified Financial Research Administrator (CFRA) credential strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of direct experience working on Pre-Award or Post-Award services in a higher education institution
  • Experience managing United States federal grants
  • Experience working on technology transfer activities
  • Ability to grow and lead an effective and responsive Office of Sponsored Programs
  • Proficiency in data management, document preparation and management, spreadsheet creation
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • Team player with a commitment to customer service
  • Ability to take initiative to proactively foresee and address problems
  • Ability to work independently
