Job Summary
UPMC Hamot is recruiting a spine-focused neurosurgeon to join the region's premier Neurosciences Institute at a Level II Trauma Center. The role involves a high-volume practice with ~80% spine and ~20% cranial cases, balanced scheduling, dedicated OR block time, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team (neurohospitalists, neurologists, neuroradiology, and APPs). The candidate will benefit from comprehensive Epic EMR integration, access to subspecialty support, and a robust referral network. Qualifications include MD/DO, neurosurgery residency, board eligibility/certification, PA licensure ability, and DEA certification; fellowship in spine is a plus. The position offers an enhanced compensation package, sign-on bonus, CME stipend/days, relocation assistance, PSLF eligibility, and employer-paid malpractice insurance.
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO from an accredited medical school
- Accredited Neurosurgery Residency Program completion
- Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted Pennsylvania Medical License and ability to obtain necessary credentials
- DEA certification
