Spin Form Technician - Metal Forming

Job Summary
Conduct manual and power spinning operations, including setup, operation, and in-process inspection of domes and cones. Operate CNC machines for spin forming and programming while verifying parts against blueprints and manufacturing drawings. Use manual torches and digital pyrometry to heat materials within specification, maintaining clean work areas and performing basic machine maintenance. Identify process wastes to continuously improve spinning processes and collaborate with Engineering teams to enhance product quality. Adapt to schedule changes, overtime needs, and second-shift coverage to support production targets.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or Degree
- Good communication skills
- Ability to perform basic part inspection using basic measuring devices such as calipers, ID / OD micrometers, digital thickness gage, Pi-Tape to check key dimensions and profiles
- Ability to interpret blueprints / sketches and manufacturing instructions
- Must be able to stand for long hours (majority of the shift)
- Must be comfortable working in a HOT WORK environment
- Must be willing to adapt to schedule changes, over-time needs, cover 2nd shift to support production schedules, as necessary
- A demonstrated ability to perform manual Power spinning and/or computer numerical control CNC lathes
- Experience with Aerospace materials and hot spinning
- Ability to use measuring devices and templates to check dimensions and profiles as required
- Ability to accurately follow planning, read blueprints and manufacturing instructions
Desired Qualifications
- Manual Hand / Power spinning experience preferred but not required
- Heat treating experience; operating furnaces and heat treat setups
- Over-head crane / rigging experience to safely handle large odd shaped, heavy hardware
- Previous Forklift experience
- Basic tooling lathe / Bridgeport Mill experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant spin forming experience
- Experience operating Leifeld or MJC spinning machines
- Experience with SpinCAD or similar software
