Job Summary
Provide comprehensive inpatient care to 19 critically ill adult and geriatric patients requiring intensive monitoring and technical life support. Manage complex procedures including cardiac monitoring, pulmonary artery catheter insertion, mechanical ventilation, therapeutic hypothermia, and continuous renal replacement therapy. Administer high-risk medications and monitor hemodynamically unstable patients requiring dialysis or vasoactive titration. Maintain individualized plans of care based on evidence-based assessment tools for diagnoses ranging from cardiac arrest and acute stroke to septic shock and drug overdoses. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to address physiological, psychological, and social needs.
Required Qualifications
- Current Basic Life Support
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 6 months of hire)
- Successful completion of unit specific orientation and Cardiac/Critical Care course (within 6 months of hire)
- Annual Cardiac and Critical Care Competency Validation
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), and Therapeutic Hypothermia classes and competency evaluation
- Successful completion of the orientation program
- Current Basic Life Support
