Job Summary
Spend Executive leads non-labor spend management for assigned accounts in the Upper Midwest region, driving account planning, category strategy, governance and executive communications. The role partners with client leaders to translate priorities into an aligned category workplan, uses Vizient insights to frame recommendations, and delivers measurable outcomes including savings validation, utilization improvement, and value realization. Responsibilities include strategic account planning, category strategy development, executive influence and presence, client relationship management, problem solving, and renewal/expansion execution. Requires strong storytelling and analytics to present ROI to senior stakeholders, ability to travel regularly, and familiarity with healthcare supply chain trends and governance processes. Mentoring and collaboration across Spend Management and enterprise teams are also expected.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant degree preferred
- 7 or more years of relevant experience in healthcare supply chain or related field
- at least 2 years of direct, accountable experience making and influencing supply chain decisions within hospitals/health systems
- hands-on sourcing, procurement and standardization execution
- ownership of financially measurable outcomes (validated savings, utilization performance, compliance)
- ability to translate supply chain data into actionable insights and executive-ready narratives
- experience in strategic account planning and category strategy development
- experience in client relationship management and executive-level communication
- ability to travel regularly and expeditiously to meet client expectations
- experience participating in governance activities (value analysis, capital approval, executive supply chain forums)
- ability to build and execute account plans and workplans aligned to client priorities
- experience leading category workplan initiatives through full lifecycle
