Job Summary
The Speech Therapist provides clinical speech therapy evaluation and treatment for program participants of Senior Community Care at acute, restorative, or maintenance levels. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive speech therapy assessments, participating in Interdisciplinary Team meetings, administering treatment per physician instructions, evaluating participants' needs, and maintaining communication with nursing home and assisted living staff. A minimum of one year’s experience with the elderly population and a master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology are required.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology
- Clinical Certification of Competency in Speech Pathology (CCC) preferred
- Legally authorized, currently licensed, registered or certified to practice in the state of employment
- Minimum of one year’s experience in working with the frail or elderly population required
- Must have a valid driver’s license and means of transportation
- Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before direct participant contact
- Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation
