Job Summary
Assess and evaluate patient care needs for speech and language disorders, functional training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments. Develop therapy plans of care based on diagnostic and prognostic functional ability tests, then perform interventions to improve patient well-being and communication effectiveness. Treat patients to express thoughts according to their condition using acceptable standards of practice, while observing, recording, and reporting responses to treatment and condition changes to supervising nurses or physicians. Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and other health care team members in areas where they can participate in their speech therapy. Requires state licensure in Speech Therapy, current CPR certification, and a dependable vehicle or public transportation access. Full-time employment with a salary range of $71,200 to $127,200 annually.
