Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing therapy to improve residents' communication abilities and quality of life. Direct all aspects of patient care including evaluations, treatment planning, goal setting, and family education while using therapeutic techniques for speech, oral motor, and cognitive disorders. Perform patient evaluations, develop treatment plans with short and long-term goals consistent with physician orders, and carry out care plans to determine appropriate patient progression. Address swallowing disorders through oral exercises and diet texture modifications while serving as an advocate for current and prospective patients. Maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and medical providers while adhering to local, state, and federal guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool Diploma
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university
- Current state licensure in the state practicing
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in long term care or skilled nursing
