Job Summary
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and treat patients across the lifespan for speech, language, hearing, cognition, and dysphagia disorders within Presbyterian’s rehabilitation team. Responsibilities include developing and overseeing rehabilitation plans addressing physical, psychosocial, cognitive, and environmental needs; promoting caregiver independence by linking patients with community resources; collaborating with physicians, nurses, occupational and physical therapists, and other professionals; ensuring treatment aligns with discharge goals and adjusting plans as needed; serving as a patient advocate with compassionate, individualized support; and performing duties to support patient outcomes and departmental operations. The role emphasizes evidence-based interventions, growth across settings, and an emphasis on culturally valued, patient-centered care. Opportunities for education and career development, including tuition and certification reimbursement and loan forgiveness programs, are noted; shift differentials for nights and weekends are available. Required Qualifications
- Masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligible for Clinical Fellowship
- One to three years experience or Clinical Fellowship eligible
- Experience evaluating and treating speech, language, cognition, hearing, and dysphagia disorders
- Interdisciplinary team collaboration
- Patient-centered care with cultural sensitivity
- Discharge planning alignment and plan adjustment during episode of care
