Job Summary
Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of speech, language, communication, cognition, hearing, and dysphasia disorders. Oversees a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, cognitive, and environmental well-being of the patient while promoting self-determination through optimized resource utilization. Coordinates with various disciplines involved in patient care and communicates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during the episode of care. Acts as a patient advocate across inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, community-based, and home health settings. Requires detailed knowledge of speech and language pathology, interpretation of data, and basic computer skills.
Required Qualifications
- Masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence
- One to three years experience
- Clinical Fellowship eligible
- Basic computer skills
- Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting
