Job Summary
Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and monitor progress toward pediatric feeding goals. Assess patient response to interventions and recommend plan changes as appropriate. Maintain accurate patient records per documentation standards and policies. Adapt communication styles and behavior to specific patient populations while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Assist in program development to meet patient and community needs. Work in a patient care area with exposure to blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in speech language pathology
- Current speech pathologist license in the state of practice OR eligibility for licensure by examination OR reciprocity from another state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Certification of Clinical Competence from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain flexible with fluctuating schedules based on patient demand
- Very Heavy Work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Occupational risk for exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- Occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases
- Occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste
