Job Summary
Evaluate residents and develop treatment plans to restore communication efficiency within 24 hours of physician referral. Initiate ordered treatments, communicate progress updates to physicians, and document evaluations, weekly notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with state and federal regulations. Collaborate with team members during rehab and care planning conferences while providing education to residents and families. Maintain accurate records per facility policy and participate in special assignments as directed by the Director of Rehabilitation. This part-time role involves working three days a week at Preserve Rehab & Living Center in Fort Myers, FL.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology, with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), or the equivalent of minimum of one year experience working with adults with disorders of neurological origin, including language comprehension, expression, cognition, articulation, voice, fluency, swallowing, and hearing.
- The candidate must also have the ability to function independently within the department.
- Valid license in Speech Pathology in the state (where applicable) or actively accumulating the supervisory experience required for license
- Registration with the Department of Health or eligible.
- This position requires compliance with Florida's Care Provider Background Screening process.
Desired Qualifications
- Able to utilize computers, Servox, augmentative devices and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
- Member of Speech Language Hearing Association.
- Auditorily and visually integrate and synthesize large amounts of information, (i.e., in-service, evaluations, and therapy tasks).
