Job Summary

Conduct independent evaluations to assess clients with speech, language disorders, dysphagia, and related conditions to determine needed services. Develop clinical recommendations and strategies by interpreting observations and data, while participating in annual ISP meetings, Circle of Support Meetings, and acute concern reviews. Collaborate with each client's Circle of Support to plan and implement activities that improve communication skills. Provide professional development to employees regarding communication deficits and dysphagia hazards, including training on altered meal plan needs. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and required documents to comply with CMS and DIDD regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Tennessee license as a speech-pathologist granted by the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (SBESLPA)
  • Certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • May be required to lift and transfer clients to and from wheelchair or assist with positioning clients with physical disabilities
  • Ability to use the accepted tests and measurements to assess communication disorders and conditions
  • Knowledge of evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech-language disorders and conditions
  • One year supervised clinical speech-language pathology experience
