Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, screen, and prevent language, speech, and swallowing disorders while communicating with patients, family members, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans. Use tried and tested therapies combined with innovative techniques to provide care, educate families on disorders, and take detailed notes on patient history and progress. Evaluate patient progress to implement changes to therapy programs as required. Provide mentoring and workshops to speech therapy students and keep up-to-date with field advancements through conferences, research, and academic networking. Requires a Master's degree, relevant license, and CPR/First Aid certification. Full-time role with 8+ hours daily standing, sitting, or walking; ability to lift 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech Therapy or Speech-language Pathology
- Relevant license and certification
- Experience with certain disorders and age groups
- Sound understanding of speech-related disorders and treatments
- Willingness to conduct research and travel to conferences
