Job Summary
Perform medically prescribed speech therapy treatment to restore speech, language, and swallowing skills following injury. Access patient needs and develop a comprehensive plan of care while demonstrating professional procedures in the home care setting. Collaborate with the integrated healthcare work team to promote quality, compassionate, patient-centered care. Travel to patient's home within the service area and use office equipment such as a beeper and car phone. Work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a master's program at accredited college
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate competency in applying principles, methods, materials and equipment used in speech therapy
- CPR certified
- Ability to access patient needs and develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care
- Ability to function as a member of an integrated Healthcare work team
- Able to travel to patient's home within service area
- Able to demonstrate professional procedures in the home care setting
- Able to use office equipment; i.e. beeper, car phone
- Ability to work flexible hours, with weekends and holidays included
- Current license in the state of practice
- Valid driver's license
