Job Summary
Evaluate and provide speech-language pathology treatment in the home environment, including initial assessments, oral motor exercises, and adaptive equipment recommendations. Coordinate with physicians, insurance case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to establish and modify treatment plans while arranging specialized in-home assessments and discharge referrals. Supervise home health aides and educate patients and caregivers on disease processes, functional limitations, and post-discharge care management. Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding patient care issues and adhere to all agency standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Maintain medical records for reimbursement and participate in quality improvement teams and community outreach efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- 1-2 years Clinical experience
- SLP - Speech Language Practitioner License to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the State of Maryland or Virginia or Certificate of Competency by ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) if working in the District of Columbia Maryland or any combination as required based on work location(s)
- Valid State Driver's License in good standing with a dependable vehicle for transportation
- Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Good clinical skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
