Job Summary
Conduct speech-language pathology and dysphasia assessments, including oral motor exams and receptive/expressive language evaluations, to determine patient habilitation needs. Develop and modify treatment plans with patients, families, and physicians, then deliver services such as associative language exercises, oral motor training, and thermal stimulation. Arrange for specialized home-based assessments like videofluoroscopy when needed, recommend adaptive equipment, and provide caregiver education on functional limitations and discharge management. Supervise home health aides in patient care activities and maintain communication with physicians, insurance case managers, and multidisciplinary teams. Submit medical records according to agency standards and regulatory requirements for reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- 1-2 years Clinical experience
- SLP - Speech Language Practitioner License to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the State of Maryland or Virginia or Certificate of Competency by ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) if working in the District of Columbia Maryland or any combination as required based on work location(s)
- Valid State Driver's License in good standing with a dependable vehicle for transportation
- Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days
