Job Summary
Provide speech-language pathology services in the home or facility, evaluating, directing and delivering therapy to help patients regain communication, swallowing, and overall functional abilities. Responsibilities include developing and periodically reviewing the Plan of Treatment and Plan of Care; assessing and treating disorders of speech, voice, language, hearing and swallowing; administering and interpreting diagnostic tests; observing and reporting changes to supervisors or physicians; instructing patients in alternative communication systems when appropriate; counseling patients, families, and healthcare staff; maintaining required documentation and participating in care coordination and discharge planning; meeting ASHA CCC education/experience requirements; and maintaining professional standards while traveling to patient homes. Requires driving to patient locations and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation for home health duties.
Required Qualifications
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology granted by ASHA
- Minimum of six months experience as a speech therapist / speech language pathologist
- A valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
