Job Summary
Evaluate residents for speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans while providing evidence-based speech and swallowing therapy. Complete evaluations, progress notes, and clinical documentation to maintain compliance with federal, state, and facility requirements. Participate in interdisciplinary care planning with nursing, dietary, occupational therapy, and physical therapy teams to help residents regain communication and swallowing abilities. Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
- Current or eligible Alabama Speech-Language Pathologist license
Desired Qualifications
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or geriatric experience is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for providing excellent resident-centered care
