Job Summary
Evaluate residents and develop individualized speech therapy treatment plans for communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Implement evidence-based interventions, maintain clinical documentation, and assess progress to modify plans as needed. Provide therapy for dysphagia, oral motor disorders, and perceptual deficits while coordinating adaptive communication devices. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other therapists for care conferences and interdisciplinary meetings. Educate families on home strategies and conduct in-service training for clinical staff. Supervise supportive personnel per state regulations and maintain therapy equipment. Requires a Master's degree, NJ license, and minimum one year of nursing home experience.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current New Jersey Speech-Language Pathologist license, or eligibility for licensure in the State of New Jersey
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility to obtain certification
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing home or skilled nursing facility experience
- Experience treating residents with dysphagia, cognitive deficits, and communication disorders
