Job Summary
Examine and evaluate patients across all age groups to develop effective treatment plans and measure progress. Modify existing plans as needed and educate patients to achieve optimal outcomes. Apply knowledge of Speech Language Pathology theory, procedures, and equipment to assess and implement treatment programs for simple and complex diagnoses. Maintain thorough awareness of patient care hazards and necessary precautions. Utilize Microsoft Office suite for documentation. Requires current Florida license, BLS certification, and Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Knowledge of Speech Language Pathology theory, procedures, practices and equipment
- Good communication skills
- Proactive, positive approach to problem solving
- Thorough knowledge of possible hazards/necessary precautions/remedial actions in the care of patients
- Ability to assess for an implement treatment programs for simple and complex therapy diagnoses
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Current Florida license as Speech-Language Pathologist
- BLS from the American Heart Association
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Video Swallow Studies
- Speaking Valve
- Voice Prosthesis
- FEES
- Masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Less than one year clinical experience in area of job opening (e.g. Acute care, Outpatient, SNF)
- Experience obtained during fellowship applies
