Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate speech therapy for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients while providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services for communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Intervene when appropriate and immediately notify charge nurses, managers, and supervisors of significant incidents or crises. Participate in clinical education by supervising student interns, clinical affiliates, and Clinical Fellowships as needed. Set patient care priorities and assign activities to appropriate personnel based on competency and scope of practice. Maintain state licensure, ASHA CCC certification, and CPR/BLS certification in adherence to Adventist Health policies.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Speech Pathologist licensure in the state of practice
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
Desired Qualifications
- Two years' speech language pathology experience
