Job Summary
Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for speech, swallowing, and voice disorders under physician referral and departmental supervision. Administer instrumental assessments, plan remedial programs to restore communication efficiency, and integrate treatment into total care plans while consulting with medical directors and attending physicians. Conduct daily patient evaluations, maintain visit records, and participate in care review conferences and departmental development initiatives. Order supplies, assist in policy creation, and contribute to facility education programs. Requires a Master's degree, NY State licensure, and ASHA certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or the equivalent which would result in eligibility for the required licensure
- Possession of a license and registration as a Speech Pathologist as issued by the New York State Department of Education at the time of appointment
- Possession of a Certificate of Clinical Competence as issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association at the time of appointment
- Eligibility to complete a Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellowship in accordance with the Standards as set forth by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and possession of a Certificate of Clinical Competence at time of completion of probationary period
