Job Summary
Conduct FEES diagnostics and short-term dysphagia therapy in physician offices, clinics, or via tele-therapy. Present customized diagnostic profiles incorporating the Dysphagia Systems Test (DST) to evaluate muscular, neurological, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and cognitive systems. Generate recommendations for diet, therapy, and further evaluations while collaborating with the patient's care team. Master ASHA-standard skills through DMS's mentorship, weekend scoping course, and online CE content. Complete a pre/post educational self-assessment to document required knowledge and skills.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
- Completion of Certificate of Clinical Competency
- At least 5 years experience in long-term care following completion of CFY
