Job Summary
Speech Paraprofessional I assists with creating a positive learning environment and supports students under the supervision of a licensed teacher, performing tasks that include aiding in personal, social, and intellectual development, assisting with classroom activities, reading/storytelling, managing small groups, supporting behavioral and independent student work, and performing clerical and non-instructional duties to enable the teacher to deliver instruction; requires high school diploma or equivalent and familiarity with district health and safety policies, ability to use office equipment and computer software, and the ability to work in a potentially noisy, interruptive classroom setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of the operation of various office machines and equipment
- Ability to use personal computer and software
- Ability to observe and follow all school district policies at all times
- Ability to react to change and frequent interruptions in a productive and positive manner, meeting deadlines as assigned
- Ability to implement and follow all district health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan
- Must verify good health by passing a physical examination, which includes TB and drug test as required
