Job Summary
Provide direct speech therapy rehabilitation care to patients upon physician referral, implementing and interpreting departmental programs, goals, and objectives in accordance with Life Care standards and applicable laws. Collaborate with interdisciplinary nursing, therapy, and medical staff to help residents achieve functional progress within skilled nursing and sub-acute rehabilitation facilities. Liaise with patients and families while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to safety, sanitation, and compliance procedures. Supervise and evaluate care provided by Clinical Fellowship Year SLPs, utilizing therapy software accurately and exhibiting excellent customer service. New graduates eligible for the 9-month Clinical Fellowship Year are welcome to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in speech therapy (minimum MS or MA SLP)
- ASHA certified (CCCs)
- Must be eligible for 9 month Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in order to earn ASHA certification (CCCs) and/or meeting ASHA credentialing criteria
- Once achieved, must maintain ASHA credentialing
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e mail
- Must be able to oversee and evaluate care given by SLP CFYs
- Must be able to follow speech therapy treatment plans for patients under direction of the supervising SLP CCC and in accordance with Federal and State guidelines
- Utilize therapy software appropriately and accurately
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
