Job Summary

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides direct rehab care in speech therapy to patients in a post-acute care environment at Life Care Centers of America facilities, under physician referral and in accordance with applicable laws and Life Care standards. Responsibilities include implementing and interpreting department goals and procedures, maintaining patient rights and confidentiality, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and overseeing CFYs when applicable. Requires a graduate degree in speech therapy (MS/MA), ASHA CCCs or CFY eligibility, proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel, and compliance with company policies. New grads are welcome. Location: Alexandria, VA.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program in speech therapy (minimum MS or MA SLP)
  • ASHA certified (CCCs) OR must be eligible for 9 month Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in order to earn ASHA credentialing (CCCs)
  • SLP CCCs only) Must be able to oversee and evaluate care given by SLP CFYs
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
  • Knowledgeable of practices and procedures and laws/regulations governing functions in post-acute care facilities
  • Ability to implement and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures
  • Demonstrates integrity and professionalism and adheres to Code of Conduct and mandatory compliance training
