Job Summary
Permanent full-time Speech Language Therapist in Porirua, Wellington region, NZ, joining a Learning Support team to assess and support speech-language and communication needs of children and young people; works with families, caregivers, teachers and other specialists in a trans-disciplinary setting to translate theory into practical support and improve student outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech-Language Therapy or equivalent
- Specialist knowledge of theory, research and practice related to speech-language, child and human development and learning and behaviour
- Ability to translate specialist knowledge into practical information
- Ability to co-ordinate service provision in a multi-agency, trans-disciplinary setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with children, young people and their families and teachers across a diverse range of settings
- Ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriri o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga
- Ability to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct
