Job Summary
Speech Language Therapist (SLP) provides comprehensive skilled care within a defined Ohio territory (Columbus and surrounding areas) under physician orders. Responsibilities include evaluating patient functioning, developing and adjusting an individualized plan of care, documenting treatment and patient progress per Medicare/Federal guidelines, guiding patient and family in therapy procedures and home programs, promoting continuity of care during admissions/transfers, counseling patients and families, coordinating with schedulers and agency staff, participating in on-call and mandatory trainings, and maintaining professional appearance and adherence to agency policies. Qualifications include holding an active SLP license in Ohio, potential 1+ year experience, ability to travel, valid driver’s license and insurance, ability to communicate effectively with patients and teams, and knowledge of speech therapy best practices. The role emphasizes documentation, patient education, and collaboration with medical staff to improve swallowing, breathing, cognition, speech, and communication; and includes a guaranteed base salary with uncapped bonus opportunities, mileage reimbursement, flexible schedules, and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- A current Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of employment
- Minimum of one year of experience as an SLP preferred
- Home care experience desired
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance with your name as a listed driver
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers
- Knowledge of speech therapy best practices
- Ability to make appropriate clinical judgments
- Detail-oriented and observant
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Travel is required for this position
- Must meet health and safety requirements including TB test
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
