Job Summary
Speech-Language Pathology Assistant provides direct speech-language services to students under the supervision of a licensed SLP, implementing IEP-aligned goals and therapy activities, documenting progress, and supporting service delivery across district buildings. Duties include individual and small-group therapy, coordinating with the supervising SLP, developing therapy materials, recording progress, supporting generalization of communication skills, conducting articulation screenings under supervision, implementing therapy plans for articulation, language, fluency, voice, social communication, and pre-language skills, supporting AAC devices, collaborating with teachers and families, traveling between district buildings, and upholding FERPA/confidentiality. Commitment to onsite work in assigned buildings and participation in required trainings and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program OR Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a closely related field, with completed coursework in assistant-level service delivery and a minimum of 100 hours of supervised fieldwork as an SLPA student
- Valid Minnesota Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license issued by the Minnesota Department of Health, per Minnesota Statutes section 148.5181, required at time of hire and maintained throughout employment
