Job Summary

Conduct comprehensive evaluations of cognitive communication skills and swallowing function for Acute Care populations, then develop and adjust goal-oriented treatment programs based on physician referrals and patient data. Review medical records to determine required interventions, consult with the healthcare team to coordinate care, and instruct patients and families on home programs. Record treatment responses in patient charts, provide fieldwork education and mentoring to students, and deliver training programs on speech, language, and dysphagia to medical staff and community groups as assigned. Complete department competencies, maintain BLS certification, and gather supplies for individual use.

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an approved program satisfying the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's academic practicum requirements for the Certificate of Clinical Competence
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) - ASHA
Speech Language Pathologist License - KDADS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
Ability to write reports, respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulator, or members of the business community and emails
