Job Summary

Evaluate patients based on physician referrals and develop functional, goal-based treatment plans with required physician approval. Treat patients according to established plans while supervising therapist assistants and students to carry out care activities per state regulations. Maintain clinical documentation, record daily charges, and conduct in-services on restorative techniques for patients, families, and nursing staff. Participate in discharge planning and communicate progress with the health team. Maintain productivity standards and consistently attend work with appropriate notice for paid time off.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Speech Therapist
  • Knowledge of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations
  • Ability to supervise Therapist Assistants and therapy students
  • Ability to carry out plan of care and patient related activities per state practice act
  • Ability to maintain documentation of services in the medical record
  • Ability to conduct in-services and training for patients, clients and team members on restorative techniques
  • Ability to evaluate patients based upon physician referral/orders
  • Ability to develop effective treatment plans with functional, goal based outcomes
  • Ability to ensure approval /orders for services from referring physician
  • Ability to treat patients according to treatment plan
  • Ability to record clinical documentation according to accepted regulatory and professional guidelines
  • Ability to record daily treatment charges per approved billing guidelines
  • Ability to instruct families and nursing staff regarding restorative/home programs
  • Ability to participate in discharge planning
  • Ability to communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems and plans
  • Positive attitude and team building approach
  • Consistent attendance
  • Ability to provide appropriate notice for scheduled paid time off
  • Ability to maintain productivity standard as determined by supervisor and clinical needs
