Job Summary
Provide Speech Language Pathologist services in a skilled nursing facility. Evaluate and treat patients with communication and swallowing disorders, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and document progress to support patient outcomes. Role focuses on skilled SLP services in a long-term care environment while supporting residents in Ashland, VA. Requires CFY completion and CCC from ASHA, active Virginia SLP license, and BLS credentials. Responsibilities include assessment, individualized treatment planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and outcome-driven documentation to advance communication and swallowing outcomes for residents.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) and current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Active Virginia state SLP license required to start the assignment
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross may be required
- Experience providing SLP services in skilled nursing or long-term care settings preferred
- Experience with dysphagia management and instrumental assessments (e.g., FEES or MBS) preferred
